Informatica ETL Specialist
Calimala partners with enterprises across the Gulf and Europe to design, build, and scale Data & AI teams. As an Informatica ETL Specialist, you’ll join a network of practitioners who understand both the technical detail of integration work and the business impact of getting it right—especially in regulated, complex environments.
This role sits at the heart of how data moves across the organization. From ingestion to transformation and loading, you’ll design and maintain robust Informatica workflows that support reporting, analytics, and AI use cases—while helping clients standardize and modernize their integration patterns.
What you'll be doing
As an Informatica ETL Specialist at Calimala, you’ll lead and support projects where data integration is mission-critical. One engagement may involve building new subject-area pipelines for a data warehouse; another might require refactoring legacy mappings, improving performance, and enforcing data quality rules at scale.
“We treat ETL as infrastructure for decisions: reliable, explainable, and built so that teams can trust every downstream dashboard, model, and report.”
You’ll work closely with architects, business analysts, and downstream consumers to translate business requirements into efficient mappings and workflows. You’ll help define standards for naming, versioning, error handling, and monitoring—ensuring that Informatica jobs are not only running, but observable and resilient.
Who we're looking for
You’re deeply familiar with Informatica as an enterprise integration platform and comfortable taking ownership of end-to-end ETL flows. You can read legacy mappings, design new ones to modern standards, and explain your design choices to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
You’ve likely worked in large organizations or consulting environments where multiple systems, teams, and timelines intersect. At Calimala, we value depth, accountability, and partnership—you take pride in clean designs, robust operations, and making life easier for everyone who depends on the data.
Strong hands-on experience with Informatica (e.g. PowerCenter and/or Informatica Intelligent Data Management Cloud)
Proven track record designing, developing, and optimizing ETL/ELT workflows and mappings
Solid SQL skills and experience working with relational databases and data warehouses
Familiarity with data modeling concepts (star/snowflake schemas, dimensional modeling)
Experience implementing data quality checks, reconciliation controls, and error-handling patterns within Informatica
Understanding of scheduling, monitoring, and performance tuning for high-volume ETL jobs
Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and modern data architectures is a plus
We’re looking for practitioners who care about reliability and clarity: people who leave pipelines better documented, easier to operate, and more trustworthy than they found them.
