Cloud Administrator
Calimala partners with enterprises across the Gulf and Europe to design, build, and scale Data & AI teams. As a Cloud Administrator, you’ll join a network of practitioners who understand both the technical depth of cloud platforms and the business need for stability, cost control, and security.
This role sits at the foundation of our clients’ data and application landscape. You’ll help shape and operate cloud environments—provisioning resources, enforcing standards, and supporting the platforms that data engineers, analysts, and application teams build on.
What you'll be doing
As a Cloud Administrator at Calimala, you’ll lead and support engagements where the cloud is the backbone of the program. One project might involve setting up new landing zones and environments for a data platform; another might focus on hardening security, optimizing costs, or improving observability across existing workloads.
“We see cloud as an operating model, not just a collection of services—our job is to make it predictable, secure, and easy to build on.”
You’ll collaborate closely with architects, security teams, and delivery squads to implement infrastructure standards, automate routine operations, and keep environments compliant with client policies. You’ll help define how cloud resources are requested, deployed, monitored, and decommissioned—reducing friction while maintaining control.
Who we're looking for
You’re comfortable working across cloud consoles, infrastructure-as-code, and operational tooling. You understand how different teams use the cloud and can translate that into practical guardrails, automation, and support.
You’ve likely worked in enterprise, platform, or consulting environments and are used to balancing speed with governance. At Calimala, we value depth, accountability, and partnership—you take ownership of the environments you run and communicate clearly with the people who depend on them.
Strong hands-on experience with at least one major cloud platform (Azure, AWS, or GCP); multi-cloud exposure is a plus
Experience operating core cloud services: networking, storage, compute, identity, and security controls
Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g. Terraform, ARM/Bicep, CloudFormation) and automation/scripting (e.g. PowerShell, Bash, Python)
Practical understanding of security and compliance in the cloud: IAM, RBAC, network segmentation, encryption, logging, and audit
Experience setting up monitoring, alerting, and dashboards for cloud resources and workloads
Exposure to data and analytics platforms (e.g. Databricks, Snowflake, Synapse, BigQuery) or container/orchestration environments (e.g. Kubernetes) is a plus
We’re looking for practitioners who treat cloud platforms as shared infrastructure: stable, observable, and thoughtfully managed so that teams can focus on delivering value, not fighting the environment.
