DevOps Engineer
Calimala partners with enterprises across the Gulf and Europe to design, build, and scale Data & AI teams. As a DevOps Engineer, you’ll join a network of practitioners who understand both how software is built and what it takes to run it in production—securely, reliably, and at pace.
This role sits at the heart of how applications and data platforms are deployed and operated. You’ll design and maintain CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code, and observability tooling that let teams ship changes with confidence while keeping environments compliant and cost-aware.
What you'll be doing
As a DevOps Engineer at Calimala, you’ll lead and support engagements where delivery speed and reliability both matter. One project might involve building a deployment pipeline for a new data platform; another could focus on refactoring existing pipelines, improving observability, or standardizing how services are provisioned across environments.
“We treat delivery as a product: automated, observable, and designed so teams can change systems without breaking trust.”
You’ll work closely with application teams, data engineers, architects, and security to define how code moves from commit to production. You’ll help introduce and refine patterns for infrastructure-as-code, environment management, and release practices—reducing manual work while making the system easier to understand and operate.
Who we're looking for
You’re comfortable working across source control, CI/CD, cloud services, and operations tooling. You enjoy reducing friction for other teams through automation, clear standards, and well-documented workflows.
You’ve likely worked in platform, SRE, or product teams where uptime, incident response, and deployment frequency all matter. At Calimala, we value depth, accountability, and partnership—you take ownership of the delivery stack and care about making life easier for the people building on it.
Strong hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and tooling (e.g. GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, Jenkins or similar)
Solid understanding of at least one major cloud platform (Azure, AWS, or GCP) and its core services (compute, networking, storage, IAM)
Proficiency with infrastructure-as-code (e.g. Terraform, ARM/Bicep, CloudFormation) and configuration management where relevant
Experience with containerization and orchestration (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes) in production environments
Familiarity with monitoring, logging, and alerting tools, and using them to improve reliability and performance
Strong scripting skills (e.g. Bash, PowerShell, Python) to automate repetitive tasks and glue systems together
Understanding of security and compliance fundamentals in the delivery lifecycle (secrets management, access control, approvals)
We’re looking for practitioners who see DevOps as a way of working, not just a toolset: people who build pipelines and platforms that are robust, transparent, and a genuine multiplier for the teams who use them.
