MicroStrategy Developer
Calimala partners with enterprises across the Gulf and Europe to design, build, and scale Data & AI teams. As a MicroStrategy Developer, you’ll join a network of practitioners who understand both the technical depth of enterprise BI and the business need for clear, consistent insights that can be trusted at scale.
This role sits at the heart of how data is modelled, exposed, and consumed in MicroStrategy. You’ll design and maintain semantic layers, reports, and dashboards on top of warehouses and data platforms—bringing together strong SQL, data modelling skills, and a sharp eye for usability and performance.
What you'll be doing
As a MicroStrategy Developer at Calimala, you’ll lead and support engagements where MicroStrategy is a key analytics front end. One project might involve designing a new subject-area model and set of dashboards for senior leadership; another could focus on refactoring an existing MicroStrategy environment to improve performance, governance, and user adoption.
“We treat BI as a product: fast, consistent, and designed so that everyone sees the same answers to the same questions.”
You’ll work closely with data engineers, analytics teams, and business stakeholders to understand how decisions are made and what metrics matter most. You’ll translate those needs into MicroStrategy objects—attributes, facts, metrics, dossiers, and documents—while putting in place standards for naming, security, and lifecycle management.
Who we're looking for
You’re comfortable working across the full MicroStrategy stack, from data models and schema objects through to visual design and user experience. You enjoy shaping semantic layers that simplify complex data, and you care about performance, consistency, and maintainability.
You’ve likely worked in enterprise BI, analytics, or consulting environments where MicroStrategy was a central reporting tool. At Calimala, we value depth, accountability, and partnership—you take ownership of the reporting layer and want stakeholders to trust and rely on what they see.
Strong hands-on experience with MicroStrategy (schema objects, application objects, dossiers, documents, and prompts)
Solid SQL skills and experience working with data warehouses or data marts as sources for MicroStrategy
Background in dimensional modelling and designing subject-area models for analytics
Experience optimizing report and dashboard performance, including caching, aggregate tables, and query tuning
Familiarity with MicroStrategy security, access control, and object management best practices
Experience collaborating with business stakeholders to translate requirements into robust, reusable BI solutions
Exposure to modern data platforms and cloud environments (Azure, AWS, or GCP) is a plus
We’re looking for practitioners who see enterprise BI as more than just reports: people who build clean, governed MicroStrategy environments that make it easy for teams to ask better questions and trust the answers they get.
