Infrastructure Administrator
Calimala partners with enterprises across the Gulf and Europe to design, build, and scale Data & AI teams. As an Infrastructure Administrator, you’ll join a network of practitioners who understand that solid foundations—networks, compute, storage, and security—are what make modern platforms possible.
This role sits at the core of our clients’ technology stack, often in hybrid or multi-site setups. You’ll manage and improve on-premise and private cloud infrastructure, support migrations and upgrades, and implement the operational standards that keep environments stable as business needs evolve.
What you'll be doing
As an Infrastructure Administrator at Calimala, you’ll lead and support projects where reliability and continuity are critical. One engagement may involve upgrading core infrastructure to support a new data platform; another might focus on tightening security, improving monitoring, or resolving performance bottlenecks across multiple environments.
“We see infrastructure as a service to the business: invisible when it works, but essential to every decision, application, and analytic that depends on it.”
You’ll collaborate closely with cloud teams, DBAs, security, and application owners to design and operate environments that are robust and maintainable. You’ll help define standards for capacity planning, backup and recovery, patching, and incident response—so that when issues arise, they’re managed quickly and predictably.
Who we're looking for
You’re an experienced infrastructure practitioner who enjoys taking ownership of complex environments. You’re comfortable working across servers, storage, networking, and virtualization, and you can explain your decisions clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
You’ve likely worked in enterprise IT or managed services, supporting multiple systems and teams in parallel. At Calimala, we value depth, accountability, and partnership—you take pride in stable platforms, clear documentation, and leaving environments in better shape than you found them.
Strong hands-on experience with infrastructure administration (Windows and/or Linux servers)
Experience with virtualization and/or hyperconverged platforms (e.g. VMware, Hyper-V, Nutanix)
Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, VLANs, firewalls, VPNs, load balancers)
Experience managing storage solutions, backups, and disaster recovery strategies
Familiarity with patching, hardening, and security best practices for infrastructure components
Experience with monitoring and logging tools, and translating signals into actionable improvements
Exposure to hybrid setups integrating on-premise infrastructure with public cloud is a strong plus
We’re looking for practitioners who treat infrastructure as a craft: disciplined, thoughtful, and always oriented toward giving teams a reliable foundation to build on.
